THE SILENT STAGE SERIES: REEDS IN RHYTHM

THE SILENT STAGE SERIES: REEDS IN RHYTHM
Wednesday, October 14, 2026 | 6:00 p.m.
Glenn D. Cunningham Branch Library Amphitheater
275 Martin Luther King Drive, Jersey City, NJ 07305
Get ready for an intimate musical experience where every note, breath, and rhythm comes alive. Reeds in Rhythm invites audiences to discover the expressive sound and energy of live music in a fresh, immersive setting.
Featured Performer: Candyce Raiford, a multi-instrumentalist originally from Indianapolis, fuses classical and jazz with many genres—redefining what’s possible for the clarinet. A survivor of abortion, foster care, and a lifetime of neglect, her life exists because someone fought for her right to be born. As the great-great niece of Bass Reeves (The Original Lone Ranger and first African-American U.S. Marshal) and a Marine Corps veteran, Candyce trains Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, creates self-produced work and cover tunes while raising her children. Candyce believes everyone has purpose and can rise from pain. Struggle is just the prelude to greatness.
This program is part of The Silent Stage Series, an immersive headphone performance experience from the Jersey City Free Public Library. Audience members will listen through wireless headphones, bringing the performance directly to their ears with exceptional clarity. The result is a personal listening experience that still captures the energy and connection of enjoying live music together.
Advance registration is required. Capacity is limited to only 45 guests, so reserve your headphones and secure your spot today!
